The FROGs initiative arose from discussions during the GEWEX Open Science Conference in Canmore, Canada in 2018. The aim is to facilitate the access to the many precipitation gridded datasets for the community.
The original aims are to support the WCRP Grand Challenge on Extremes investigations and best pratices document elaboration and to support the on going Joint IPWG and GEWEX/GDAP precipitation assessment.
Nevertheless the database offers much more opportunity for scientific analysis and we are looking forward to reading from the community of users
